Reading Club: Strategies for Success
Strengthening fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills for students in grades 4-6
Grade Levels: 4th-6th graders*
(*Suggested grade levels but open to students in all grade levels)
Dates: 1/5 - 3/4
Days/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15
Where: Online in our Zoom classroom
Registration: Opens on 12/1 (Limited space available)
HOW IT WORKS
Students will meet with Dr. Pittman twice a week for live instruction! Using a selected chapter book, students will focus on literacy skills and topics such as:
- Fluency
- Vocabulary building
- Comprehension
- Elements of plot
- Plot pyramid
- Internal and external conflict
- Story devices
- Character traits
- Types of characters
- Theme
- Figurative language
- And more!
