Dr. Cathleen Killeen-Pittman
Dr. Cathleen Killeen-Pittman is the founder of Our Learning Studio, an online academic support practice based in North Carolina. Dr. Pittman works in private practice as an academic support specialist, literacy coach, and consultant to support parents, teachers, tutors, and students across the country.
Dr. Pittman's career as an educator spans over 30 years. She has served as a teacher or administrator in public school, community college, and university settings. She spent 15 years serving as a beginning teacher evaluator where she conducted over 2,000 observations and mentored teachers during the first three years of their careers. She also became a business owner back in 2006 when she opened her first large-scale tutoring center, and she now works in private practice.
Dr. Pittman is committed to helping students blossom as readers and writers through her small group online classes and self-paced Teachable writing workshop. She works extensively with parents and educators through consultations and workshops. She provides training on how to help children learn to read using multi-sensory strategies and how to empower and provide behavioral support to children with regulation challenges.
Dr. Pittman also works with tutoring business owners to help them set up their businesses to be sellable, using the valuable insight she gained after successfully selling her first tutoring practice.
Dr. Pittman holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, a graduate degree in Educational Leadership, and a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration.
