Academic Coaching

ACADEMIC COACHING FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS, HIGH SCHOOLERS, AND COLLEGE STUDENTS

Executive function skills are the mental processes that help us plan, organize, focus, remember instructions, manage time, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. For many students, especially in today’s fast-paced academic environment, these skills don’t come naturally—and that’s okay.

Here are some signs that your child may need academic support:

  • Struggles with organization – Frequently loses homework, forgets due dates, or has a cluttered backpack or digital workspace

  • Poor time management – Procrastinates, underestimates how long tasks will take, or crams at the last minute

  • Difficulty starting or finishing tasks – Gets overwhelmed at the beginning of assignments or has trouble following through to completion

  • Trouble with focus and attention – Easily distracted, has difficulty staying on task, or switches between tasks without finishing

  • Inconsistent academic performance – Capable but grades don’t reflect their true potential

EXECUTIVE FUNCTION SKILLS

Academic coaching empowers students with practical strategies and personalized support to build the foundational skills they need to succeed—not just in school, but in life.

Here are some of the skills we focus on during coaching sessions:

  • Organization
  • Prioritization
  • Task decomposition
  • Time management
  • Task initiation
  • Follow-through/task completion
  • Motivation
  • Study strategies
  • Goal setting
  • Visualizing outcomes
  • Student communication with teachers
